Polpharma participated in the 15th edition of the European Forum for New Ideas (EFNI), one of the leading business and policy conferences in Central and Eastern Europe, bringing together business leaders, policymakers, academics and innovators to discuss the future of Europe, competitiveness, technology, healthcare and economic resilience. EFNI is organized by the Polish Confederation Lewiatan in cooperation with BusinessEurope and the City of Sopot. The 2026 edition focused on global transformation, European competitiveness, innovation and strategic resilience.
For Polpharma, EFNI was an important opportunity to contribute to discussions that are directly shaping the future of healthcare and industry in Europe. As a pharmaceutical group with strong manufacturing, R&D and commercial operations across Central and Eastern Europe, we believe that innovation, resilient supply chains and local industrial capabilities are increasingly important for safeguarding access to medicines and strengthening Europe’s strategic autonomy.

Sharing Polpharma’s innovation experience
One of the key highlights of our participation was a panel discussion dedicated to innovation management and organizational transformation, held during the official launch of the report “Innovation Management in Practice. Benchmark of Best Practices and Innovation Maturity Framework”. The report was developed under the Innovation Council of the Polish Confederation Lewiatan and presents practical experiences from leading organizations across different industries.
Representing Polpharma, Monika Jasłowska, Advisor for Innovation and Transformation, shared our experience in building a culture of innovation that engages employees across the organization. Discussions focused on how companies can move from ideas to implementation, develop innovation capabilities and create environments where employees can actively contribute to business transformation.

The report also features Polpharma’s innovation ecosystem, including the Leonardo innovation programme and the Innovation Leads network. Over the last six years, more than 1,400 ideas have been submitted through the programme, over 600 employees have actively participated in developing them, and more than 1,500 people have engaged through community functions on the platform. Today, awareness of the programme across the organization reaches 98%.
Discussing Europe’s industrial future
Polpharma representatives also participated in broader discussions on the future of European industry, strategic supply chains and industrial competitiveness. During EFNI, Barbara Misiewicz-Jagielak, Head of Pricing Policy and External Affairs, contributed to debates on local content, international competitiveness and the role of advanced manufacturing and R&D in strengthening Europe’s economic resilience. Topics included shortening supply chains, developing strategic industrial capabilities and building sustainable competitive advantages through innovation and technology.

These conversations are particularly relevant for the pharmaceutical sector. Recent global disruptions have highlighted the importance of maintaining critical manufacturing know-how, API production capabilities and R&D expertise within Europe. As one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the region, Polpharma continues to invest in advanced technologies, pharmaceutical development and manufacturing capabilities that support both patients and healthcare systems.
Creating opportunities for partnership
Beyond the conference agenda, EFNI provided valuable opportunities to engage with business leaders, policymakers, innovation experts and potential partners from across Europe. The Forum serves as a platform where ideas can be translated into practical collaboration, helping organizations address common challenges and identify opportunities for growth.
At Polpharma, we see innovation not only as developing new technologies or products, but as creating partnerships, sharing knowledge and building capabilities that deliver long-term value for patients, healthcare systems and society.
Our participation in EFNI reflects our commitment to shaping discussions on the future of healthcare, innovation and industrial development in Europe while continuing to build strong relationships with current and future partners across international markets.
